Welcome to Turtleback

Welcome to the 2025–26 School Year!

This year promises to be filled with exciting discoveries, lasting friendships, new experiences,
and, above all, learning. We will continue to enhance the student experience through our
integration of the Leader in Me paradigms. As a Leader in Me school, we aim to ensure our
students have agency in their learning and meaningful opportunities to lead.

Whether you are new to our school or returning, this handbook has been prepared to give you a
30,000-foot overview of our school operations and to help build strong partnerships by
clarifying school expectations. Please take the time to review its contents and keep it handy for
future reference.

At Turtleback, we believe in nurturing the whole child by balancing culture, academics, and
leadership. We are committed to helping every student discover their unique genius—whether
it shines through academic achievement, acts of service, mentoring younger peers as cross-age
tutors, or leading our schoolwide Friday Flag assemblies. Our goal is for each student to
recognize and share their individual gifts, contributing to a community where everyone learns
from and uplifts one another.

As the principal of Turtleback, my hope is that you feel a sense of joy and belonging as a valued
member of the Turtleback community. While deepening their learning and expanding their
horizons, your student may experience both challenges and opportunities throughout the year.
Please know that we, the staff of Turtleback, are here to support you during these important
years of growth and discovery.
